Abstract

This paper aims to describe why and how they developed a web ontology aimed at learning basic algorithms. The product of this research will be applied in higher education establishments which provide courses related to learning and development of algorithms. The idea of ontology work stems from the results of a study conducted by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Colombia, as well as those obtained in surveys conducted in various universities in Bogotá, Colombia Students in all three semesters taking courses related to algorithms. These results concern due to the lack of academic knowledge by learners and non-use of appropriate teaching by teachers, applied to the learning of the subject of basic algorithms and the lack of a means to present ontologies public and accessible on the issue.
This paper is an overview of what has been done in the field of ontologies, the methodology used to develop the ontology led to the knowledge of basic algorithms, results and analysis.
