Abstract

In addition to the growing demand for bandwidth is compounded by the global trend of integrating all existing telecommunications networks within countries and outside them. In The Dominican Republic is not exempt from this trend, sooner or later must follow this path of integration with other networks. GPON network in conjunction with optical fibers Metropolitan Electricity Transmission Company can provide answers to these needs. Telecommunications platforms available and referred to deliver voice, data and video in the city of Santo Domingo is the metro ring optical fiber Electricity Transmission Company, in which the deployment of passive optical networking technology known as GPON, has many advantages, because this network is composed of passive devices, provides high speed and provides broadband services for voice, data and video.
