Abstract

The worm gearing possess a low efficiency because of the high slip among the surfaces of contact, what causes a high coefficient of friction. In these transmissions the correction of the teeth one is only carried out in the worm wheel, to adjust the distance among centers or to elevate the resistance of this, however, in the calculation of the form factor of the teeth doesn't take into account the coefficient of friction. In precedents investigations about the influence of the coefficient of friction and of the correction coefficient in the form factor of the spur gears and it elaborated a mathematical model that allows taking into account. In the calculation of the tensions in the foot of the teeth of the worm gearing the same factor for spur gears is used so, but calculated for the equivalent number of teeth of the worm wheel. Presently work is deepened on the simultaneous influence of the possible coefficients of friction of these transmissions, for the typical correction coefficients that are used in the same ones and they are obtained novel summations.
