Abstract

Courses are designed by applying active teaching methods including problem based learning, underpinned by the development of a Training Project (Project Course). This project must solve real problems related to the subject, discovered by the students in guided visits to industries located in the near area of the university in the first two weeks of classes. The problems encountered are converted into educational problems.
Students, with a high degree of motivation and independence, solve these problems playing the role of an engineer with the support of the laboratories and the multidisciplinary work of teachers. The results are screened in a forum and present technical reports to the industries.
The change in the evaluation system is an important factor in this experience, it is designed essentially in terms of know-how to do ", highlighting in the development of exams using their books and internet to solve problems as a professional engineer does in the real world.
