Abstract

15 years ago the Industrial Engineering program at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru obtained information from the accreditation systems that Canada and the U.S. have developed for the assessment of the career and engineering offered by institutions of higher education. Between 1997 and 1998, this program has developed a self-assessment process was overseen by professors from the University of Central Florida. It is from the year 2007 that begins a process-oriented institutional development of several engineering programs, including one industrial engineering, to start the accreditation. The results of this experience are presented in this document in order to guide other programs interested in accreditation.
