Abstract

Concern over the issue of quality is increasing in the field of educational institutions, according to what the current world demand. No doubt there is a need for changes in higher education, are urgently needed to ensure quality in the universities pointed to the demands of the globalized world of today and tomorrow. Internationalization associated with higher education is needed primarily to address issues such as student mobility, the expansion of educational opportunities, support and recognition of qualifications. It is therefore necessary to investigate the development of a management approach consisting of processes, based on the basic principles of international accreditation conceptual models, allowing higher education institutions in Colombia started on the road in pursuit of international accreditation engineering programs. Some general results of this analysis and engineering experience applied to this document are presented in order to guide other programs interested in accreditation.
