Abstract

This paper shows the experiences of APEC University in its effort to achieve virtualization of higher education; injunction is scheduled for the country's higher education under the provisions of the Ten Year Plan for Higher Education, 2008-2018. It shows the activities undertaken by the university to achieve that goal. A major asset is the constant training of its teachers, both in their areas of knowledge and science teaching, both within and outside the country. Likewise has created the Center for Teaching Support, CADOC, which provides support and assistance to teachers, extracurricular training courses, among others, and most important, monitors compliance with the educational structures that have been designed in towards virtualization. To achieve the objectives towards the virtualization of teaching the university has established a number of challenges to meet and opportunities to seize. Similarly defined the limitations and weakness of the university to virtualization. We present the different stages of virtualization program that defined the college education, specific programs for teacher training to the virtualization of education, the creation of the Center for Teaching Support (CADOC), the pilot program teaching blended learning and training courses for teachers in the virtual learning platform, called EVA (Virtual Learning Environment).
