Abstract

Nowadays, Colombian enterprises are looking forward to become more competitive both nationally and internationally, for which they are implementing strategies that contribute to high productivity and that ensure quality in the products and services they offer. That is why they have seen the need to adopt the philosophy of Lean Manufacturing as a differentiator and success element that ensures high competitiveness in the market.
Through the collection of graduation and thesis projects of the leading universities in the country, a review of the literature will be done, where is shown the knowledge that industries in Colombia have about Lean Manufacturing. For these reasons, there were chosen some of the Lean Manufacturing tools such as: 5'S, SMED, Just in Time, Poka Yoke, Six Sigma, VSM and Visual Factory. This revision of the literature will be available so the companies that want to implement one of these strategies can access to this information and can learn about the most relevant achievements that were obtained with its implementation.
