Abstract

In English:
The investigation tries to identify the cognitive competences that the Venezuelan labor market demands to Industrial Engineer so that this professional can self-manage his process of formation. Due to the multidimensional characteristic of the study a technique of multivariance analysis is used in order to simplify and to establish the central dimensions that group to the referred competitions. The obtained results allow to structure driving of the Industrial Engineer through nine factors: production management, basic quality management, sciences, basic design engineering, economy for engineers, industrial security, abilities of the thought, direction of companies and project management; through which a multidisciplinary professional describes itself who must participate active and consciously in its formation.

La investigación pretende identificar las competencias cognoscitivas que el mercado laboral venezolano exige al Ingeniero Industrial de forma tal que este profesional pueda autogestionar su proceso de formación. Debido a la característica multidimensional del estudio se utiliza una técnica de análisis multivariante con el propósito de simplificar y establecer las dimensiones centrales que agrupan a las referidas competencias. Los resultados obtenidos permiten estructurar el accionar del Ingeniero Industrial a través de nueve factores: gestión de la producción, gestión de la calidad, ciencias básicas, ingeniería básica de diseño, economía para ingenieros, seguridad industrial, habilidades del pensamiento, dirección de empresas y gestión de proyectos; con los cuales se describe un profesional multidisciplinario que debe participar activa y conscientemente en su formación.
