Abstract:

To know the current state of the infrastructure that connects the main traffic flow in the city of Santo Domingo, this paper presents a structural assessment based on inspections on Puente Juan Bosch and its components. The assessment procedure used was to observe the different parts of the bridge, such as straps and the board surface, taking photographic images and data from the original plans. In addition, a finite element computer model was created based on the mechanical properties and design loads through 2015 V17.1.1 Bridge CSI program. As a result, they were able to find some corrosion damage in some beams and bridge elements, which can be repaired with a maintenance program. Also, results were obtained of the mechanical behavior governed by the deformations that occur in the modeled structure from the load data and design parameters.
