Description
There will be a student poster session and competition in the LACCEI conference with the following objectives:
- Motivate students to utilize and demonstrate the knowledge aquired during their studies to solve problems
- Promote academic interchange among students from different universities and countries
- Promote scientific talent and creativity in engineering students
- Provide an opportunity for research faculty to recruit potential graduate students
Poster competition entry requirements
The poster could be the result of the work of an individual student or a student team
The project needs to be reviewed by their professor or advisor
The work could be based on a final project for a course or a thesis
The work and paper must be original and cannot be results of faculty research
An extended abstract or paper must be submitted and accepted
Instructions for the poster competition
1. We recommend a minimum font size of 24 pts. Bold section names. The poster should be clearly readable from a distance of 2 meters
2. Language: Spanish or English
3. We encourage the use of pictures, graphics and any other ilustrative material
4. Students who submitted a full paper or extended abstract to the conference for review and were accepted, can register to compete in the poster competition and will present in a special session within the conference just prior to the poster competition. Time of the Power Point presentation: 10 minutes maximum for full papers, and 5 minutes for extended abstracts, including questions.
5. All the poster submitters at the poster competition will present in front of their poster an "elevator speech" (3 minutes maximum) giving an overview of the problem and results at the poster competition. They will be asked questions by the judges and the audience and can give a demonstration if appropriate.

Keep in mind
1. The participants must be registered with a full paper of 2 to 10 pages this papers will be publish in LACCEI conference memories
2. When you submit your poster you can add also your resume

Awards and Recognitions
Every participant will receive a certificate of paticipation in the LACCEI conference.
Awards:
1. Grand Prize: The Vish Prasad Founder Award for Student Poster Competition will receive a LACCEI medal and $US 500 for mobility to present the poster or attend another international conference.
2. The top award within each category will receive a special certificate of recognition for the student(s), the professor who guided the work and the institution of origin.

1. Submit full paper or extended abstract for review using the specified format.

2. Fill out the form below identifying the paper/abstract number that you were assigned when you submitted.
3. Prepare and bring your PowerPoint presentation and poster to the conference.
4. You may bring resumes for networking for graduate studies.
